Biography: Travis has 13 years of experience providing physical therapy, rehabilitation, athletic training and sports performance training. He started BOOST in 2008 out of his desire to provide the finest physical therapy and sports performance service in the KC metro.Travis is the former Head Athletic Trainer and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Kansas City Brigade (2006-2008), Rehabilitation consultant for the Kansas City Wizards (2004-2006), Interned for the Kansas City Chiefs (2003), and student athletic trainer for the University of Missouri-Columbia (2000-2003). Travis and his wife Misty are proud parents of 3 children, Isaac, Hayley, and Sydney.

Ryan Johnson, PT, DPT, CSMT

Physical Therapist
Biography: Ryan received his Master of Physical Therapy degree from Southwest Baptist University in December of 2000 and graduated from Missouri Western State University in 1998 with a BS in Biology. Ryan completed his post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Kansas in 2009. Ryan is a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist (CSMT) from the International Spine and Pain Institute (www.ispinstitute.com), attaining this certification in July of 2010. Clinical interests include treating spinal related conditions, aquatics, working with athletes and sports-minded individuals, pain management, and educating/mentoring students and therapists. Recreational interests include playing golf, weight training, and coaching high school football.

Chris Maguire, DPT

Biography: Chris is a native of Kansas City and graduate of Rockhurst University’s Doctoral Physical Therapy program. Prior to PT school, Chris attended Southwestern College where he was a two time all conference performer in football and won seven conference championships in track. In his free time he enjoys running, working out, and spending time with his wife Lindsay and there dog Ozzy. Chris brings an extensive background in sports and enjoys helping others overcome injuries and watching them return to the top of their game.

Biography: Zach graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007. Zach attended Oak Park High School and was an accomplished wrestler. He is newly married to Nicki Koelling and has a dog named Tetlee. He joined BOOST November 2009.

Tyler Wasmer, DPT, ATC

Physical Therapist
Biography: Tyler received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Southwest Baptist University after earning a BS in Sports Management with an emphasis in Athletic Training and Fitness/Wellness. Tyler has experience working with athletes as a therapist, trainer, coach and educator. He has been an assistant athletic trainer for a Division II school and has provided athletic training for a number of area middle and high schools. Tyler is very passionate about teaching and learning. He is an adjunct professor at the college level. Clinical interest includes athletic injuries, orthopedic rehabilitation, acute and chronic pain conditions. Recreational interest include spending time with his wife, Jessica, and two sons Truman and Sant.

Biography: Gary graduated from Iowa State University with Bachelor of Science in Human Health and Performance and went on to obtained his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University. Prior to Iowa State he played collegiate football as a defensive back at Waldorf College. He joined Boost in June 2010.

Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Athletic Trainer
Biography: Gini joined Boost in the fall of 2011 as an ATC providing school outreach and works in the clinic as a PTA. She has 12 years of experience working in outpatient rehabilitation as well as inpatient and geriatric care. She received her Associate Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Missouri Western State University in 1999 and was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Gerontology and Aging in 2001. At Missouri Western she served as a student athletic trainer for all sports. Gini has provided athletic training services for numerous high schools and colleges in the metro area. In her free time she enjoys hunting, riding ATVs, spending time with family and spoiling her Yorkiepoo, Josey. You also might find her at the dirt track with her boyfriend Tyee.


Greg Huff, MS

Biography: Greg received his master’s degree from KU in Exercise Physiology, after earning a BS in Exercise Science from UCM. Greg specializes in Sports Performance, Functional Strength Training, Nutrition, and Sport Specific Training. He has worked all over the United States including Rochester, MN, Scottsdale, AZ, and Alanta, GA. He has experience working with children as young as 6 years old up to professional athletes. Greg and his wife are proud parents of Addison and Aiden.

Alphonso Hodge, BS

Sports Performance Site Manager, Lee’s Summit
Biography: Alphonso holds a BS in Exercise Science from the University of Miami-Ohio where he was a four year letterman in football, 1st team All MAC as a defensive back, 5th round pick of the NFL 2005 Draft, former NFL player with the KC Chiefs, NY Jets, Cleveland Gladiators of the AFL and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Alphonso’s pro career and experience has given him the opportunity to participate in sports performance programming across the nation. Specializes in football skills, strength training and SAQ training.

Bryan Tunison, BS

Biography: Bryan was born and raised in Lee’s Summit. He graduated from O’Hara High School. Bryan was a x2 All-State Soccer Player and also wrestled in high school. He went on to play soccer at Avila University in Kansas City. Earned his BS in Sports Science and Human Performance. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer, cycling and playing the occasional round of golf when hes not hanging out with his girlfriend, Megan and their dog Brinkley.

Biography: Drake attended the University of Central Missouri, graduating with BS in Kinesiology and Corporate Fitness. He was apart of the UCM Fighting Mule football team for 5 years, playing free safety and wide receiver. He graduated high school from Excelsior Springs. Drake specializes in Sports Performance Training, Sport Specific training, Team training and is a Certified TRX Suspension Trainer.

Jamal James, BS

Head Athletic Trainer
Biography: A native of Chicago, Ill, Jamal comes to Boost with 5 years of professional experience as a head certified athletic trainer. He spent his first 3 years in the Arena 2 Football League, with the South Georgia Wildcats, and entered into his second year with the NBA Developmental League with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. He was named 2006 Outstanding Trainer of the Year and 2007 May Employee of the Month for the Arena 2 Football League. Jamal attended Park University, in Kansas City, MO where he was a member of the men’s basketball team and was an American Midwest All-American Scholar Athlete from 1996-1999. He graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine and Magna Cum Laude of his graduating class.

Biography: Ryan is an engineering student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to attending UMKC he played Division 1 soccer at the University of Memphis. He was a student athlete at the University of Memphis from 2007-2010, and was a member of the All-Conference CUSA team. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 2007. He was an All-State 400m runner in Track, as well as All-State in soccer.

Biography: Kayla is a full-time student at Rockhurst University. She is majoring in Exercise Science and then plans to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She attended Raytown High school where she lettered four years in Varsity Softball and Student Council. She played competitive softball for 10 years.

Zach Hibdon, MS

Biography: Zach was honored to join the BOOST team in December 2011. Zach earned his Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from East Central University after receiving his BS in Sport Management from Culver-Stockton College where he lettered four years in football. In 2006, Zach was voted Special Teams MVP by the team and coaches. In 2007, he was invited to the NFL Combine as a Longsnapper. After trying out for the NFL Zach turned his focus to coaching college football where he coached at colleges including Culver-Stockton College, East Central University, William Jewell College, University of St. Mary’s and Ellsworth College. Zach is currently the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Kansas City Command Arena Football Team.

Megan Newland

Biography: Megan was born and raised in Lee’s Summit, MO. She coached for 4 1/2 years (U12 through High School Girl’s). She grew up playing soccer for Dynamos and Lee’s Summit North High School. She was part of a High School 2nd Place State Championship, three Kansas State Cup Championships, two Regional Championships and a National Championship. Then, she played at Park University where she was the starting goalie. Her playing experience consists of playing for a nationally ranked NAIA program where in 2006 she was on the Honorable Mention National Team. In her senior year she received the National Defensive Player of the Week. While studying at Park University she earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

Brook Gray

Biography: Brook was pleased to join the Boost team in January 2011. She attended Mid America Nazarene University after graduating from Lee’s Summit High School. She has been married to her husband Shawn for thirteen years. They have two sons named Ashton and Landon. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing volleyball and softball whenever possible, reading and knitting. Brook and her husband also invest their time and hearts developing a new church in the area. She is glad to be a part of a team who truly care about patients improving and athletes becoming stronger.

Kim Beasley

Biography: Kim Beasley is a Pittsburg State University graduate, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is a certified group fitness instructor, and actively leads outdoor boot camps in Kearney, Missouri for her recently established business, Project Fitness North. Kim and her husband Bryan are the parents of three daughters, Emily, Bryanna, and Madelyn.

Administrative Assistant and Certified Athletic Trainer
Biography: Becky was excited to join the Boost team in April 2012. Becky grew up in Belton, MO where she played 4 years of varsity soccer at Belton High School before graduating in 2007. From there, Becky went on to MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS where she played four more years of soccer as an outside defender for the Pioneers. Becky graduated from MNU with a Bachelor’s degrees in both athletic training and kinesiology, with minors in chemistry and psychology. Becky was a student athletic trainer for a variety of sports teams. Through Boost she was an athletic training intern for the Kansas City Command Arena Football Team in 2011. In her free time, Becky loves hanging out with her boyfriend, Ryan, and her dog Macie. She also enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, running, and rock climbing.
